(I think I'll wait to hear the price and some user experiences before considering it, since I'd have to also pay $600 for the 7 to 8.5 upgrade in addition to the plug-in...)
Great to see more 3rd party support for AC!

Am I correct in understanding that for architectural illustration you only need the base package + the Advanced Render module (USD 595 + 495)?
Does the new plug-in change any of that (the software needs, or the money-to-shell-out needs)?

This is great!!!
Users should be cautious about assigning materials - the translator allows for several options - so far I like "by material" best.
Perhaps we can expand this thread to include best practices for using the translator as more of us get with it!
This is by far the best way to get radiosity with ArchiCAD models!!

Problem: I don't yet have ArchiCAD 8, nor does Maxon send the plug-in out as a demo.
If a friendly reader of this last is already set up with the Cinema 4D plugin, would it be possible to send me ANY C4d-ready output from ArchiCAD, so I can see how it behave in Cinema 4D? I don't really want to spend time modeling in Cinema 4D, when I'd rather be testing its ability to render ArchiCAD output.
Thanks a million.
