ID, name and description are fundamentals of a definition and should be easy to overview and manage. Looking at the building material dialog this is currently not the case. In the main pane - name is placed alone at the top while ID and description is placed under an "ID and categories (?)" fold down. They should be put together at top under a definition section as is the case for classifications. Furthermore, in the view/search pane it is possible to rename, but not to change ID. It is possible to list and sort after ID but not to search/filter.
Under what circumstances is this an acceptable implementation of a editor/manager in a BIM application?
