Rotate objects with single click

Can you allow library objects to be rotated with a single click please, such as kitchen units, furniture, etc, as listed in the product roadmap.  This would be highly useful.

Saveable Presets for “Filter and Cut Elements in 3D” and Model View Options

In Archicad, the Find & Select tool allows users to create and store Criteria Sets, which makes it very efficient to reuse complex selections.

A similar functionality would be extremely useful for Filter and Cut Elements in 3D and possibly also for Model View Options.

Currently, when switching between different working situations (e.g. structural review, coordination, presentation views, or element-specific inspections), users need to manually toggle multiple settings each time.

It would greatly improve workflow efficiency if users could:

  • Save presets for Filter and Cut Elements in 3D

  • Quickly switch between preset configurations

  • Optionally store them as part of view settings or project standards

This would allow teams to standardize filtering setups and avoid repetitive manual adjustments during modeling and coordination.

SEO operation stack list

The order in which SEO are applied is important, hence having the ability to shift operations in a stack would add flexibility to the SEO operations increasing this tool’s efficiency.

On top of the mentioned benefits of having a SEO manager mentioned in the linked thread, being able to adjust the order of the operations in a SEO stack would greatly improve this tool.

Disable snapping to point cloud points

Unfortunately, the fact that ArchiCAD wants to fit the elements to each point really slows down and hinders accurate, nicely edited work.
It would be nice to have a simple solution that would enable the fitting to the points of the point cloud to be turned on and off.

The switched off points would allow for faster and more accurate editing.

Thanks in advance, it would be a great help.

Text part in ArchiCAD => i.e. reload ALL PDF pages into drawings (incl. dynamic amount of pages)

Use case:

As an Architect...

I want to publish the text part of the documentation into BIMx in an automated workflow without necessity to check relations after chante in text part...

so that everyone can access the complete documentation without errors effortlessly.

Problem:

The text part of the documentation is typically processed in MS Word and exported as a PDF. While there are ways to load specific pages or all pages into an Archicad drawing—such as automatically placing each PDF page into a separate drawing—this workflow has a major drawback.

Whenever a change is made in Word, pagination can shift, new pages may appear, and existing ones may be removed. This requires the user to manually check the number of pages in the updated PDF and then adjust the corresponding drawings in Archicad—either by adding a new drawing for a new page or deleting one for a removed page. This is not an automated process and unnecessarily consumes time and attention.

Request:

Developers, please implement an automated solution that eliminates the need for users to manually track pagination changes. Let us focus on complex tasks instead of wasting time on trivial ones.

modules path

By relinking Modules to files in the right folders it's not possible to choose "Store Path as Relative to Project".

It would be nice to use this choice, wich is already possible for linked drawings in the Drawing Manager:

by clicking >Relink >from file >Store Path as Relative to Project.

Handrail modeling improvement

The handrail tool is very cumbersome to work with and almost any real project application results in finding workarounds rather than actually using a properly working tool. While it does offer lots of applications, it almost feels like the application it was meant for is missing design freedom and control at the same time.

It would be great to improve some points such as:

  • reliable behavior - sometimes when drawing a handrail associatively vs manually the results will differ substantially. The left hand side has its nodes and segments set associatively while the left one is drawn manually.

2D_1-1775721461348.png

  • It would be great to have more control over how elements intersect and get continued, by being able to at least drag endpoints of Rails to achieve the desired results. In order to trick the handrail tool into actually generating the desired geometry, a horizontal segment slightly shorter than one stair thread was created. This allowed me to adjust the connection of the Toprail so that it continues on the top while the bottom one steps down.

Goodies - maybe not an afterthought?

Some of the goodies items, particularly the covering and polycount add-ons, are invaluable to proper file management and detailed model solutions.
...
keeping these as extra, and not keeping them updated is starting to become problematic. In particular, the polycount add-on; it is missing quite a few key tools introduced in the past couple versions. In one example, we get a total polycount of 5,000,000, but in the list of visible/selected elements (all visible and selected), only see around 1,000,000. It turns out, it is processing polygons for MEP elements, but not listing them off. So in the MEP model, I have no idea if there are 1 or 2 elements contributing 4m polygons, or if it is the accumulation of all ducts and pipes together adding up to that.
Additionally, the polycount add-ons "all polygons" vs "selection" only works in plan view. If I want to check a selection in 3d, or section, or... no dice.
This tool has been vital to proper file management, but keeping it as an outdated, ill maintained, and an afterthought seems like just omitting a key part of proper file management.

Updating Drawings - Manual: Update when Published

Currently, drawings are updated either automatically or manually.  Both are problematic.

Automatic updating on medium to large projects wastes a lot of time, as minor edits to a layout require all the drawings to be updated.  If you opened the wrong layout, too bad.  You have to wait for it to update before you can open the correct Layout.  The benefit is you can rest easy knowing all published drawings have been updated.

Manual updating requires a 2-step process.  Update all drawings (go to lunch) and publish all drawings (go to second lunch).  The downside is sleepless nights thinking, "What if all of the drawings weren't updated and something has been missed?"

The wish is that when the Manual option is selected, a 3rd option should become available, "Update when published".

Drawings set to this won't update when you open the layout, but will update when being published.  This avoids the issues of both Automatic and Manual updates, while getting the best of both.  Drawings that are 'frozen' can be left on Manual and won't be updated during the publishing process.  Drawings that must be current while working in Archicad can be left on Auto.

Note: This wish shares elements of Pedro Malo's wish - Enhanced Publisher – Task Automation and Workflow Actions. This wish could be incorporated into a Pre-Publisher action of "Update drawings".  I felt that wish is a more extensive update of the Publisher, while this could be a smaller and easier to complete wish.

Make Edit mode great (again?)

Graphisoft Partner

Hey,

in theory edit mode of complex tools like stairs and curtain walls is extremely powerful. In practice, however, this potential is not fully exploited.

So Make Edit Mode available for many more (all) tools and drastically expand its functionality

For Example:

Profiles:

"Editing a Profile in a separat Window without the possibility of a trace...Realising that the Modifiers are not so great as they should be.....NOOOO"

- Just open the placed Profile in edit Mode and change it directly in the View you are in!!

- convert anything you have drawn into a complex profile just with a click

- add formula based modifiers

- create advanced dependencies to other elements

Walls:

"Annoyed by the last Century solution of Building material priority based modelling, forcing you to create the 7th Insulation Material just for proper connection?"

- Change the connections of  wall skins graphically in edit mode

- change the wall to a sloped wall if you desire

- Create Wall segments without splitting it to peaces ....yeah in edit mode

- Alter every skin to your liking in guess what...edit mode

- add formula based modifiers

Morphs

"Tired of the lack of sophisicated modelling capabilites of the polymodelling old morph?"

- Use Parametric Modelling capabilities inside the edit mode

- Create Voids Forms Sweeps etc with history.

- Convert your Morphs to Nurbs

- add formula based modifiers

Doors and Windows

"Doors and Windows....common. Make a better Door and Window Tool finally. I AM GETTING OLD NOW!!!!"

- Edit Doors and Windows graphically like the curtain wall tool

could go there forever and it works with every tool, but I leave the rest to imagination.....

Refline change without position change for all elements

You can switch the reference lines of Walls and Slabs without changing their overall position, but you can’t do that for Beams and Columns.

(not to mention that roofs have their reflines always on the wrong – the lower – side which of course should be the opposite Smiley Wink)

A vote for more consistency

Step through Elevations like Stories

Simple one from me this time I promise!

Do you know how CTRL+Up/Down means you can easily move through Stories?

Let's do the same thing for Elevation Sets, you could even change it up and do CTRL+Left/Right if you wanted to be cool!

I mean there are cameras too, but hey, if they can't do it...

Pause Auto Update for all layouts

We need a simple button that deactivates auto update of views on all layouts.

When working on many layouts right before a deadline, auto update of views is a complete time thief.

Having everything on manual update is nice, but I think many would prefer to have things on auto update and then be able to enable / disable it "globally".

Import/export toolbars and menus between Command Layout Schemes.

We need to be able to import/export toolbars and menus between Command Layout Schemes. Every time I migrate to a new version I either need to rebuild all my custom menus and toolbars OR carefully add all the new toolbars and menus to my previous WE. It's insanely annoying and a waste of time. If I could just import my toolbars and menus into the default Command Layout Scheme, I would save SO much time every version. It'd also allow me to better customize Archicad because I wouldn't be worried that I have to redo work every year.

Design options palette three, no four UI wishes

When I first tested the design options, I originally poo-pooed the idea. I'm one of those creatives, that nails the design first time every time!! I know!

So, a year later when I worked out I could use it for other purposes, like mass templating of site parcels and landscaping, electrical, specifications and everything else. I have to say, I'm sorrr

Since you're still in active development like I am writing my apology, please add these amazing wishes!
1. Accept and Merge to be added to the Design Option Palette

    - You have no idea how annoying it is to open the Design Option Manager for this one option. (Leave the Design Option Manager for the combination views)

2. Merge only option

    - Don't delete other merged items in a subset. I'm creating many subsets with only one item because I might need that option in the future.

3. Design Options work on Layouts

    - Detail & Note changes per facade, You know, you cant duplicate markers. and have them setup differently. How about 2 different floor plans have 2 different joinery elevation locations. Now you have to move the elevations for each design change, so what I do is create 2 elevation sets. So The layouts should also change the placed elevation views to the correct set.

4. Allowing Grasshopper or Parameter expressions, or something else externally to pre-select and merge design options

    - Because I should be able to select options before I open the job. It's the future after all

5. (Bonus) Sub-Subsets, folders in folders!

 - Like Favorites and other stuff

Ability to color-code folders in Organizer / Layout Book

I often find myself searching for drawings in the Layout Book and realizing that I am in the wrong folder (for example, “Study” instead of “Building Permit Documentation”). This happens quite frequently, especially in larger projects with many folders and drawings.
It would be very helpful if users could assign background colors (or any kind of color coding) to folders in the Organizer (Layout Book, View Map, Publisher Sets). This would significantly improve visual orientation, reduce mistakes, and speed up navigation within the project structure.

Even a simple option to assign a color label to folders would make a big difference in daily workflow.

Get rid of Save changes before closing dialog

Could you please finally make Archicad save work continuously without the possibility of losing hours of work by accidentally clicking 'Don't save' when closing Archicad?

Just like it's common in 2025 with most other applications (at least on Mac)?

Thank you. (Lost just 3 hours of work today.)

dialog.png

Keep Layer Dialog Box open ALWAYS.

I hate that I have to open the layer box, close the layer box, open the layer box, close the layer box. Can it just stay open like some of the other palettes?

Section / Elevation performance

The performance of section and elevation views is extremely bad (slow), especially with shadows turned on and ('many') objects used.

It should match the performance of the floorplan display or the 3D window.

Especially the very slow update of these views on layouts kills all submission deadlines.

ORTHO lock that actually works.

Just basic orthographic lock for dragging/moving. Not snap guides, not distance guides, not locking the direction in only one direction like just 'x' or just 'y', not suggestive snapping, not grid based snapping, just simple 90º ortho in the x, y, and z direction. Autocad did this in like 1980 something? And Graphisoft can't do this in 2026? Please fix the basic interactions instead of feature-puking half-baked implementations.
