In Archicad 28 version 3060, the function to temporarily toggle Quick Select with the spacebar is not working, while using Shift + Spacebar does work. Is there a way to adjust the settings to fix this?
PS 1.
I've already tried resetting the settings.
PS 2.
Rolling back to version 3000 restored normal functionality.

As someone who thinks ALL CAPS is a blight on our profession (all caps notes are harder to read, cause confusion with abbreviations, etc. etc. etc.) I hate that this is a functional workaround with a fiery passion.

Just redownloaded Archicad 28 and repaired my installation back to 28.0.0 (3001). Spacebar works again and I didn't have to reinstall my Work Environment. Much better.

I have reported this as a bug.
Hopefully it will be fixed sooner rather than later.
Maybe if everyone affected also reports it to their local support, it might get more attention.
Barry.

That's funny!

I've reported it too and the update has now been pulled from the downloads site.

Hello there,
I updated the Insights post about the Archicad 28.0.1 Hotfix release where this issue is addressed in detail.
UPDATED: Archicad 28.0.1 Hotfix release - Graphisoft Community
But to reflect on your questions directly:
- the easiest way to revert to the previous version is to perform a "Repair & Install" of the main release version of Archicad 28 (build 3001).
- we are currently working on fixing this defect, and intend to include the bugfix in the upcoming AC28.0.2 Hotfix, which is expected to be available in a couple of weeks.
Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!

Hi Kornel, first of all: thanks for acknowledging and communicating here! Good job.
Also thanks for taking the update down, that was the right and only choice.
However I am a bit disappointed by the time frame: "A couple of weeks"? That means new year in my book since the year is basically over.... 🤨
On the bright side:
At least the Install repair works fine – whoever else installed it: You can roll it back and everything works!
...buuuut it still takes time. I'm just so glad that for once I didn't roll out the update for all my coworkers but used it myself first. I just wish QC would catch those obvious kind of problems.

Does the install repair retain the work environment and other settings or does it revert back to a fresh install?

Oh yeah, sorry Lee, should have answered that already in the other post:
YES, IT DOES PRESERVE!
Even tho there is a scary message in the beginning which says otherwise (maybe the German translation is just badly worded). But no, I had no issues, I could jump directly at my files, the list was still populated btw, my add-ons are still installed. All good.

I resolved the issue by downloading the 3001 version installation file and overwriting it. All settings remain intact, and only the problem is resolved.
