Snapping and guides doesn't work

Hello everyone!

The last two months I can't get my snap to work, no matter what I choose from the menu snap and guides nothing makes them working. They are active from the menu bar ,but I can't use them (Q shortcut isn't working either).

I can't draw parallel lines or snap to an element for any reason.

I'm I missing something besides the menu?

Operating system used: Windows

it could also be a work environment bug or degradation... try applying an out of the box w/e and see if it persists.

buggy things like this happen, unfortunately. sometimes you just need to reset to factory settings

Hi

Load the default Archicad file and test it. We've had similar issues because configurations from previous versions were carried over.
First, make sure it works equally poorly in a native default file. Even resetting custom profiles can cause problems.

it is one of several issues:
-verify grid snap is not set

-verify snap points and snap guides are set
-try resetting your work environment

...

I have found that work environments can get corrupted or glitchy. Occasionally resetting them to their default/saved settings can fix this.

So I tried all of them none is actually making any difference...! Should I try contacting graphisoft?

Snap guides and points is clearly turned on, so you should be seeing the blue snap guides.

Is your project a long distance away from the Project Origin by any chance?

Try an new default Graphisoft template file and see if it works for you there.

And yes, always try to contact your local support.

Some issue to do with your template or work environment if that is the case, since that option resets your ArchiCAD settings to default and uses the default template. You should mark your reply as the solution, and get a mod to remove the solution tag from Patrick's reply.
