Refining Development Reports: Zone-Focused Filtering and Category Breakdown

Hi Team!

Looking to create a development summary for a large commercial project in schematic design. We want to filter the model by zone in the scheme settings criteria and then break down each zone category into its own column in a table so it reads similar to the example below. Is there a way to filter by zone category in the scheme settings field or a similar workaround? 

This was a shock when there wasn't an easy way to seperate the zone categories in the scheme setting feild. Feels like a no brainer to add this to Archicad.

Can we break down each Zone Category Area by floor level? Currently your example shows just a total area for each Zone Category. Re-attached is the original example we are trying to replicate. They have broken the Zone Category Area by floor level. In the example provided they have a Zone Category area for Basement 3 and Basement 2. 

Is this possible?

You'll need to add a level category (home story name), set it as the first category and select Order by value - Ascending.

After closing the scheme setting, activate Show headline option and press Edit…

There, make sure the source of the headline is The first schedule field

Thanks @crlosg2 for your answer. Currently your table is only filtering Zone Category and Floor Level in the y axis. 

Is it possible to create a table where the floor level is filters in the y axis and Zone category filtered in the x axis. Resembling a table similar to the image below:

The interactive schedule is a really a list rather than a spreadsheet. If you have specific formatting requirements, it's easier to export the list as an XLS and format it as you wish in a spreadsheet. Once you do it as linked data you can re-export as needed to keep it up to date, it's basically live.

This is exactly what I've done in the past for more complex schedules, but in this case I believe there's still a way to do it with interactive schedules.

Ok, so it's a bit more work than I anticipated. You'll have to add a personalized property to the classification per zone category, in order for the schedule to show the area per zone category in a different axis than the floor level.

Here we go!

First you need to make the personalized zone properties:

Open the property manager.

1. Add a new property within the ZONES group for each zone category you want to have in your schedule.

2. Select data type Area

3, 4. Select Expression as default value and enter the value shown on screen, modifying that Dormitorio with your category name.

Then you'll need to apply those properties to your classification. By default your zones will be classified as Space within the standard Archicad Classificaciont 2.0.

Open the classification manager.

1. Select the Space branch within the standard Archicad Classification.

2. Select custom as the available properties for the classification.

3. Select Edit.

4. Press the ZONES checkbox until you have a checkmark, indicating that all ZONES properties have been selected.

Then you'll configure the scheme settings as shown:

1. Add Home Story Name as the first property of the schedule.

2. Then add all the custom properties for each zone category you made before.

3. Make sure the sum option for all the areas is selected, which will give you a sum at the bottom of each category.

In the schedule window select Merge items

Then after some format editing, you'll have something like this!

So it is possible to do the table you wanted directly within Archicad, but it does take some preparation and effort. The easiest way would be as @Eugene said, instead of trying to make a more complex schedule and jump through a lot of hoops to accomplish what you have in mind, just export the list with all the necessary raw data and live-link and process the data within your favorite spreadsheet program.
