Geolocation data stays in Layout

As it says in the Subject:

The Geolocation works only in the workspace, and the data gets lost in the layout.

For the CDE applications and similar workflows, it is necessary that the issued drawing - titleblock and all, therefore Layout - is geolocated.

Add Attribute Index Numbers to Search Bar

I've been round long enough to know Pen 1 is black, Line 1 is Solid and Fill 1 is Backgr... wait brickwork??

The point I'm trying to make here is, the search bar is the best thing since sliced bread for Archicad, so let's add Index numbers to the search. That way I can use 1 hand on the mouse and NumPad and leave the other one free for a bit of CTRL+Shift+D action if you get my drift!

Incorporate Graph Diagrams

I would like that Graphisoft incorporate Graph Diagrams to Archicad, that is visually similar to those in Node-Red for project administration in general and specifically for elements attributes, and IFC Project Manager (other aspects would be nice to have).

The reason is quiet simple, if it is visually and programmatically applied correctly by application software designers, it would make project administration a lot easier instead of depending solely on textual data, besides more and more people are getting more accustomed to the use of similar visualizations for data administration in general

Modify Structural Partial Display

Structural Partial Display right now and in combination of MVO are used to set Lod and/or Lodi for Archicad's Elements, and although it works right now with some organization and work arounds. The process is not efficient.

I would like to see a more direct way that we can custom create our Lod(s) of Lodi(s) and associate them to the project's elements

Need of component properties in expressions

It's a headache when it comes to calculations of building materials. It is possible to access building material component volume in Archicad. However, to automate the process, I cannot use the component properties in the expression editor. I always have to depend on Excel. When I have a composite it becomes a horror film.

I was calculating quantity requirements for Reinforced concrete. I use thumb rules and calculate. it works on the whole element. but when I have a composite, I have no chance of using the expression with the component volume.
please make it a priority.

Different Transparencies in 3D window and sections/elevations.

Different Transparencies in 3D views and sections/elevations based on building materials (or surfaces). Not just on / off.

Especially in non-shaded modes.

The option for transparency override of defined elements.

Instances

EVERY CAD/BIM/3D software has this essential feature - why doesn't ArchiCAD?
There was a discussion in one of the beta tests years ago about enabling this, at least based on favorites (if you change a favorite, all placed "instances" of this favorite will be updated, too. Of course, there should be options to exclude (override) defined elements.

Zone Category in Element Transfer Settings.

I did not find a quick solution to this, or maybe there is a way to do it. But if you have favorites of zones, the category always will be tranfered.

It would be good if Zone Category was an option in Element Transfer Settings.

Schedule Total Value as a Property

You have a list of zones in a schedule and at the bottom you have a total sum of the zone areas. It would great if you could define that sum as a new expression based property and use it eg. in different schedule. Like in Excel.

Central Attribute manager as a Library container

How wonderful will be to be able to control the attributes the same way we can control the libraries.

A centralize attribute manager that could be refreshed the same way we do the library manager. So all attributes are in sync between all the files of the same project that are interconnected.
Eg. The base building file, the fitout file and the wet area file, that must have the same attributes with matching names and ID's to avoid the nightmare of duplications.

In concept something like this...

and No more publishing and updating of hotlinks required
Same principle could apply to properties and classifications which can also be duplicated if are mismanaged.

Composite individual skins editing/reno status/visibility

FINALLY be able to independently edit the skins of a composite wall/slab/roof: - to be able to give it a different status: to be demolished/created... - to be able to edit it in 3d so that each layer has its own dimension (length, width, height, or even different shape) - to be able to display or not a skin in plan/section/3d... - and many other things that reflect the way a building is constructed! THANKS !

Set 3D Texture Origin in elevation/section

This would save so much time, and be a lot easier than having to find the correct place in 3D, and then go back to elevation to see if the corresponding fill has moved correctly. Something similar to how a fill origin can be moved would be great, maybe than can be turned on and off in the On-Screen View Options or somewhere similar.

Thank you!

Kaj

Editing Complex profile with "Trace as Reference"

"Trace as Reference" drawing when editing Complex profile, so section or another active drawing will be shown in background of Complex profile editor. This way you can easily adjust complex profile to fit to drawing. Drawing must be placed in same position as it was in active plan/section/façade view, so you will have feeling that you editing complex profile in project not in separate editing space.

Graphic Override by Layer Folder

It would be great if Graphic Overrides could be assigned to Layer Folders so that all layers within a specific folder can be overridden at once.

Composites and Profiles - Classifications and Properties

We seriously need to add classification and properties to composites and to profiles.

I would much rather manage common data for one wall composite type than manage the common data in 1000 placed instances of the wall composite type.
This would be soooo BIM!

AC26 Folder BUG/Suggestion: Layer Palette

At a minimum Folders NEED to be hierarchical and should display as every folder structure in AC or CAD program

  1. For Example:
    1. Rhino Drag and Drop.gif
      1. A Rhino upgrade only costs $500US around every 14-16 months so it should not be a money issue.
    2. This is what we got
    3. EduardoRolon_0-1657983726231.png
  2. Missing options:
    1. Using Folders to control visibility, priority, lock, properties? . Main problem with this is that a layer can only reside within one folder so this has to be implemented in the Layer Combination side.
    2. Click to rename Layers needs to return
      1. 2022-07-15 LAyers.gif

      2. Select All - Unselect All, Lock - Unlock, Hide - Show buttons need to come back.

Renovation status for composite walls and complex profiles

Our office does mainly renovation so we use renovation filters extensively. While they are very useful the workflow associated with it is suboptimal to say the least, mainly for two reasons.

1. For a project which requires replacement of the existing insulation we have to first create the wall, then duplicate it to create the existing insulation and yet another one for the new  insulation.  This could be avoided completely if we could manage those layers directly with a composite wall where we could assign renovation status to the layers.

2. Another inherited problem from this workflow especially when dealing with large residential buildings is that when we duplicate the wall to create the insulation layer we have to transform the windows into openings.

In previous Archicad versions when you selected different sized windows  and transformed them into openings, the created openings would keep their initial size. For some reason since a few Archicad versions this is no longer the case. All created openings will take the size  of the last selected window.

Building Material Modifiers of Complex Profiles

Instead of using different profiles for every single building material with the same shape it would be really great to be able to change only the building material itself. Especially when the profile consists of one single fill.

Symbolic view for complex profile walls

Complex profile walls can have many fills stacked above one another or even varying thicknesses to the wall at different heights - unlike a standard composite wall.
However in plan we don't have a "symbolic" floor plan display option.
We have to use the 'Projected' or 'Cut only' displays, which means we must rely on the actual 'Floor Plan Cut Plane' height to display those walls correctly.
This creates a problem when you want to display different heights of different walls or you have other elements that rely on the FPCP height.

Obviously because of the many varied fills and thicknesses, we would then need a way to nominate the default cutting plane height in the complex profile settings so we can get the correct (or desired) cut view of the complex profile.
This nominated height would be used as the 'Symbolic' cut of the wall.

So my wish is for a 'Symbolic' floor plan display view for complex profile walls.

Barry.
