We use Design Options to create different modules that we then insert into the main model.

Wish: be able to turn on/visible all the options in 1 Design Option Set

Why: now you can only have 1 Design Option visible per Design Option Set, which means we have to create different Sets for each module, so that we can turn all the options/modules on. if we could turn all options everything on it would make it way easier to manage all the options and their Sets.

I have a fairly simple wish.

Bring the SketchUp file format into the Publisher so we can automate exports of SketchUp files.

Right now to save a SketchUp model from Archicad you need to:

1. Open up a 3D View Point

2. Go to File > Save As...

3. Select the Location, choose a File Name, select a File Type and click Save

4. Choose the Export Options from the dialog box, most importantly the SketchUp Version.

5. Click OK.

That's like 10 unnecessary clicks.

I would rather set up a 3D view in the template, bring it in the publisher set, and set the export options.

This would ensure that the model is always exported in the desired SketchUp version, together with other items, in an already set location, all with just one click.

I think I have posted this in old Wishlist but it did not make it here, so here I am again.

Often there is a situation in which we need to create a zone/space outside of the object such as balcony.

If I want to stick to automatically place zone based on boundaries or reference lines, I need to create a Line/Polyline defining the space. But in case of the balcony, there is usually a Railing. Why not to use this Railing as a zone boundary?

Give the option to create this setup with only the window tool. (glas on glas corner option while using a monorail sliding window)

Stept to model it for now: (see attachments)

- create window with a open frame

- create sliding door behind the open frame

- create mesh or beam for frame sliding door.

I would like to enter a wish to make it possible to edit the model in the explore model view in order to prevent the automatic jump back to the regular 3D view when clicking/selecting elements in the explore model view. 

I keep running into issues with Presentation files where 2, 3 or more files get hotlinked into a standalone file, and the attributes all go wonky due to Surface, Building Material and complex profile Index Clashes.

Rather than having an archicad file act as the receiver of all of these individual files...allow Bimx to add more archicad files into, similar to how Rendering Programs like Twinmotion can work with multiple files.

This will help limit some of the attribute chaos that is bound to happening with multiple file projects, since we can't have a Central attribute manager.

Support for high-end VR headsets from within ArchiCAD's 3D window would be a valuable asset during design.  VR headsets have matured over the past years, including the HTC Vive Pro 2, Meta Quest Pro, Apple Vision Pro, and many others.

Physically based rendering offered with ArchiCAD 28 can present an opportunity to make VR support available in the 3D window.  At first glance that rendering engine appears similar to Twinmotion's, which uses Unreal Engine, and which supports VR headsets.

If the rendering technologies of ArchiCAD and BIMx were to merge, VR headset support can extend to BIMx as well.

Problem: Cannot use the stretch tool in the 3D window. 

Pretty self-explanatory, but I simply want to use a marquee or lasso to select a portion of elements and stretch them similar to how it's done in 2D, but in 3D. This would speed a lot of editing up in 3d. 

I wish for an opening to have the possibility to manage connections in a more flexible way. Right now we need to click "+" after selecting the opening and select each element to cut one by one (the same with deleting the cutting operations).

It would be nice to select for example few elements and have an option to connect with selected opening. Currently there is no option to do that (Connect elements - Ctrl+Alt+9 doesn't work, maybe we could use that). The other way around we could utilize Delete all relations command by selecting Opening and given elements and just delete these connections.

Perhaps I am missing something - if so I will be happy to remove this Wish.

As the title says, it's time sonsuming to search for the dedicated layer each time you need to model an element, even with the search bar enhancement, this is still not very usefull, 

For design concept , filtering bu design tools is a good idea : Wall tool can have 4 or 5 layers to choose from , in a list of 120 layer.

For advanced modelling , tool that have a specific classification can have a list of layers to choose from.

In each List of layer, we can open and select layers by checkboxes.

if it can be done by developers as an extra plugin, or an opensource development it would be great, and we share knowledge here to push it further.

Introducing GDL, Python or any form of development language in the attributes such as composite, complex profiles, lines, (and basicaly every kind of drawing attribute) would greatly increase both the technical, and graphical abilities.

For exemple, a parametric complex wall with the same GDL API as the object could get the MVO and scale, and merge certain layers of the wall to make a more unified wall. Such as having a fully detailed wall at 1:20, and not having the separation for the plaster but only represent the isolation and core at 1:100 while maintaining the same thickness.
There is proof of feasability as it can be partly done with the accessories addon. A proper integration and update of the extension in the base software would be a bliss.

The Renovation tool is very useful and powerfull, but it has major drawbacks.

1. Solid Elements Operations dont interact properly with Renovation. If you have a New element thad gets substracted from a Existing one, the operation appears in the Existing Elements filter combination as well, wich is wrong (ex. a new wall that gets substracted from the ground mesh. the hole created in the mesh is visible in the existing status as well).

2. Composites layers dont combine well with Renovations. You may have a existing wall that just has a new layer added (thermal insulation, structural grouting etc.). This cannot be achieved in a BIM way currently. You have to add extra individual walls adjacent to one another to obtain this.

3. Surfaces and Renovations dont work together. You may have a existing wall that gets a new finish. You cant obtain this in a BIM way usig Renovations. You can work around it with Graphic Overrides, but thai is not the point.

The current project location is divided into two sections, a global position with approximate Latitude/Longitude position and the very important and exact Altitude. The second section is the Survey Point position, where the local datum Easting/Northing are defined and the Elevation is set. You can also set the North Angle here, but for my wish the angle value is not important. (There are additional options for georeferencing for IFC, but this one for now is descriptive property data only and doesn't interfere with positioning, so no comments or wishes here).

I understand that the Geo-positioning of a project has to to be divided into different sections as the Global and Local (Survey Point) based positioning are two different things. The Global positioning is for approximate global positioning, Climate Zones and Sunlight relations, the exact Survey Point Georeferencing depends on the Surveyor data Coordinate System and the Geodetic Datum, which may be very different for Archicad users around the globe.

Correct data integration into an OpenBIM workflow is very difficult and involves a lot of workarounds, including trial an error.

Here are my wishes, which would make life easier:

1. Data import - all import options should have the Survey Point placement option available. Point Cloud and Place mesh from Surveyors Data don't have this option. Important - Altitude and Elevation settings - this is confusing. Right now, if a Project is defined through a Survey point, the recommended (and needed) workflow with imported Data (Point Cloud or Mesh from Surveyors Data) requires manual horizontal and vertical alignment of imported Data. The before defined Project Altitude (Project Zero distance to Sea Level) sets the imported data negative value of the needed manual vertical offset (the imported Terrain or Point Cloud needs, besides a horizontal shift, a negative vertical shift). A Survey Point based import filter could eliminate this manual adjustment process, where also the Project Zero Altitude option should be considered for correct data placement.

2. Data Export - using IFC for data exchange depends on the IFC Translator - Geometry Conversion settings. Right now the "manual adjusted" vertical position of a model's Terrain or Point Cloud requires the Survey Point Elevation settings to be the exact negative distance of the Project Altitude, for correct positioning. All this is heavy user input dependent. The export options should have an automatic elevation adjustment built-in, or the Elevation input should be an automatic negative translation of the Altitude value (maybe with the possibility for manual override).

3. Please make the process of Global and Local datum positioning of a project less complicated. Structure the Project location menu in a step-by-step positioning process, so every user will be guided through correct project placement. Connect all data import/export options to this settings and issue a warning (before import/export options), if the project wasn't properly positioned before. Convert the Survey Point Tool into an essential project setup process (you can add the option that a user can ignore these requirements). Make this more user-friendly.

OK, I just want 90º ortho on the x, y, and z axis while holding the shift key down or a hotkey that toggles this behavior.  I still want to snap to points, I still want to snap to edges, references, etc. I don't want to turn those features off. I don't want to lock to just one axis, I just want good ol ortho from the 1990's. This has been driving me crazy since I first started using Archicad.  I see plenty of posts requesting this and the answers are typically work arounds in my opinion. I just want it as simple as possible.. Quick, easy and effective.  The way it is now is that when I do this and I have snap points or snap references on, everything is a mess when trying to snap and I can't get the "magic yellow line of ortho" to work immediately. It usually takes moving the object in the opposite direction, sometimes it never gets to the yellow axis and I have to change my view in 3d, zoom in 2d, etc. Incredibly frustrating. I realize there are the alt/opt x, y, or z, keys but in my opinion that just complicates things particularly in 3d when I don't immediately know which axis I need to lock to based on the view I am in. Other software works this way, etc. JUST KEEP IT SIMPLE. As always, if someone knows of how to do exactly what I am asking for here in a single key stroke manner, please let me know. Thank you.

The Curtain Wall tool only allows for a singular Boundary, which is problematic, as standard construction has a Head, Sill, and Jambs, which are different situations requiring different configurations. As it is now, the user has to edit every Curtain Wall object placed, changing these elements and their associated IDs. Also, as the Curtain Wall object is adjusted, this Boundary adjusts back to its default, forcing the user to edit all these edge elements again. Now that it is created, this tool needs further refinement as the application progresses.

I would love to have the possibility to work in more than one tab at a time. One simple example could be to work in 2d plan and at the same time you have a 3d view that constantly updates, and vice versa. Today you must change something in one tab, and the change to another tab. This makes the user experience not very seamless.

One good example is how Rhinoceros 3d has solved this with 4 viewports, where you more or less are working in all these at once, and you have control over 4 views at the same time. If archicad could do 2 or more tabs/viewports at once would give you more control over your geometry.

Modelling complex stairs and railing and many other situations would really benefit from this kind of interface flexibility.

We experienced a lack of the following features while working on our projects:

— The thickness of the Truss is limited to 1m as a minimum. It seems that manufacturers can make it thinner, and on many occasions, it is quite important to know and show exactly how much space is left below an escalator. (I did a "subversion" of the escalator, where I changed the limit "wired-in", but I am sure many other practices would enjoy a bit more flexibility there.)

— The horizontal ends of the escalator often need to be longer, than the value automatically calculated by the script (blue areas on the screenshot attached).

I would greatly appreciate the possibility to customize commands available in the right click menu based on context (selected elements).

In my opinion this could be available next to Shortcut list in the Work Environment Settings.

Few examples:

• When selecting a Zone and using RMB we could see a command to update them,
• When selecting few lines/ polylines we could get a command to Join them.

I've found few topics about this wish, but it has never made to official Wishlist. One answer mentions some technical difficulties around it in some first try, but I truly believe that with some effort it could be possible. Links below to those topics below.

Can I customize right click menus
