Hi,
a use case that could make our life easier, "managing the content of labels by MVO",
imagine that you have location plans at several scales and with specific information for each scale,
I place my labels in a specific layer with a specific code like <#byMVO> which would have the effect of browsing the MVO to determine the content of the label.
On the MVO side we will have a "Documentation" part that will allow us to manage all the documentary parts of the plan and in this part there will be tabs by documentation tool and a system of selection criteria, in the labels tab I choose the label contained in the layer and a Textual field I will be able to recall the automatic texts that I want for this combination of MVO.
This system remains generic and can be used and diverted for any specific use and need, the centralization of the content of the labels is a fundamental subject for a fast and fluid use
Blue tint of 3D window with physically based engine is unesthetic, unusefull and completely unrealistic. Make possible to switch off coloring.
Could we please have an update to the lighting objects to include LED strip lighting. Even better if it can be in a customisable housing with diffusers and the ability to set a colour.
The railing tool is absolutely horrible and overly complicated. When I try to change segments, the result is not what I'm looking at in the settings. Please for the love of God and baby Jesus, do something! I waste more time trying to model railings with the railing tool when I can model it using the column and beam tools in no time. I can't for the life of me figure why the pattern distribution and position does not work when I simply want three divisions. It will spit out extra posts for no reason whatsoever. And why can't adjust the segment length? It just exists all by itself in the preview window without being able to click on it.
Can't post to Beta forum any more... but Dark Mode is still not working... one of those "forever experimental features"? Dropdown menus and search functions highlight items in a way that any items not meeting search criteria blank out (color seems to be depending on w/e settings)
There should be an options to set colors in layout book and project map for easier visual navigation.
When selecting an object that has been involved in SEO, there is a small useful dynamic feedback icon allowing the user to trace exactly what interactions the object is involved in.
Because interaction by means other than SEO can also cause unexpected alterations to object shapes, those things should also be listed when the icon is clicked, to help with model troubleshooting.
For example, the trimmed off portion of a wall may not be visible, but that trimmed off portion can still cut chunks our of things with lower materials priority. Objects on hidden layers (even on other stories) but with the same intersection priority can cause weird unintended 'clean up effects', etc.
When an interacting item in the list is selected, a ghost representation of that object should appear, to help with identification and location, even if not otherwise visible in the current view. In fact, this behavior should apply to objects involved in SEO interactions as well.
Where there are many interacting objects in the list, it may even be helpful to allow the user to toggle individual ghosts on and off, so that an exact visual match for the shape of the unexpected distortion can be found - which is easier with less visual clutter from displaying the outlines of too many other objects at a time
In particular
This feature could save many wasted troubleshooting hours. It could be toggled on or off if there is a performance impact.
Hi,
It is possible to place several types of bars in a railing segment but it is not possible to modify their position towards the front or the back independently of each other.
It would be very interesting if the position of each types of bars could be changed independently.
Auto-text:
Ability to access the Names and IDs of Views/View clones and the Names of View folders.
It would be a huge benefit for internal workflow.
For Text label/Auto text label :
Possibility to place an arrow in the center under the text or the box.
Right now, we use curtain walls to draw our masonry walls. This way, we can edit the 8" segments in elevation to "cut" holes for a secondary curtain wall door or window that fits inside of the hole. This is extremely tedious and is not easily editable.
Problem:
Because layers are fundamental to 99% of all architectural projects, the layer UI (when it is on, how folders work, etc.) needs to be improved. It is cumbersome in process and needs improvement to be quicker and more effective.
Scenarios and use cases:
1. Layer folders have no dropdown ( we have to open the folder to see the contents as opposed to being able to click on the folder and the layers within the folder drop down to be seen).
2. Layer dialogue box has to be opened to modify layers and layer combinations. we have to open the layer dialogue box to modify layers (turn on/off, organize into folders, rename, etc.) This should simply be a UI panel similar to the info box/design options, etc. that we can turn on or off in the UI/work environment such that is available while we are working and do not have to stop and open the dialogue box.
3. Layer Combinations should have the same behavior with folders and dropdown capabilities of those folders. This should also simply be a UI panel similar to the info box/design options, etc. that we can turn on or off in the UI/work environment.
4. Also, the little eye icon turning on or off to indicate if a layer is in a combination is not visually significant enough. Instead just highlight the combination in the interface if the layer is in it with a change in background (light/dark) behind the layer combination text.
Please focus on making it less cumbersome to work in Archicad
As discussed in this post we would like password protected object to be used in library packs. It is silly to have to even ask for it.
Often when you start a project you don't know what elevation (level) you will want project zero to be at. So you build your mesh to AHD & set your stories at what may be close to their final height, but the time often comes where you need to adjust the stories relative to the mesh. To keep the project zero story at zero you need to raise or lower the mesh. This however throws out the heights of the mesh relative to AHD. It would be great if you could just drag the stories up or down relative to the mesh, without losing project zero.
Hi,
I wish we could have an ID for Type layout like Layout to use as auto-text for separate Format Code from Format Name...
Watch my exemple below for auto-text
Currently, when creating contours in a mesh from the linework on a surveyor's supplied dwg file, under certain circumstances space clicking the surveyor's line can create duplicate nodes or entire duplicate contours, that co-exist exactly in 3D space but are otherwise undetectable to the eye but that trigger otherwise inexplicable behaviours.
I have reported this as a bug, but was told this is just a 'limitation of the tool' (which I think is semantics), and that any fix needed to be submitted as a wish.
Symptoms of duplicate mesh nodes can include:
These issues can arise even after confirming there are no duplicate lines or gaps in the source linework. Possibly as a function of mesh complexity or multiple SEOs in the mesh, possibly as a result of rounding errors if the project contains far distant objects, and possibly exacerbated by lagging dynamic feedback resulting in the user clicking based on out of date information displaying for current mouse position for a second too long.
Until meshes are upgraded to allow for concavities or genuinely vertical surfaces, where contours that are coincident in plan would make sense (vertical banks etc), it should not be possible for more than one node or contour line to occupy a given plan position.
Perhaps a mesh clean-up tool or function could be added to remove duplicate mesh nodes?
It would be great if there could be an on-screen view option that could show the starting point of lines, polylines, arcs, splines etc to make it easier to apply arrowheads after the line is placed.
We’ve all done it, hopefully not too many times but please can we have a second prompt to confirm the choice when we click ‘Don’t Save’ when closing a file down.
The predefined MEP-Parts should be automatically coupled:
Right now we need to (re-)select the correct predefinded catalog for each part of the MEP-System.
See screenshot, the pink outlined parts should be coupled.
I do not know of any single reason where this would not be the case, at least for usual pipe routing.
