There is something about a slab that is making certain walls be ignored by the distance guides.

It is the slab cover fill that is affecting it.
Turn it off and it all works as expected.
Except for the objects, I can't get them to have distance guides.

Hi,
Make sure that:
1. They are turned on - Options - Work environment - More options - Experimental features - Enable Distance Guides.
2. They are toggled on, you can add the toggle on the toolbar: https://help.graphisoft.com/AC/27/INT/_AC27_Help/030_Interaction/030_Interaction-65.htm
AC 27, running on Windows 10 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU64, 3.60GHz, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX1650

If they are active, it depends on how far you zoom in or out.
The elements the guides snap to have to be visible on the screen.
If you still have trouble, show an image of your distance guide settings, or even better a short video of the problem.

Check these screenshots. Same zoom. I don't see a distance guide when I grab the WC or a particular wall but another wall is showing up the guide.
Also attaching the screenshot of settings
Thanks Niranjan

I would suspect that that wall is not exactly vertical.
If the walls are at a slight angle, the distance guides will not lock to them.

That wall may be vertical but then the others are not.
They all need to be perfectly square to each other.

All are perpendicular. Windows and doors also not showing up the guides! Something wrong with the file it seems. I made a new file with default template and current profile and its showing up. I copied the elements and pasted it in the new file and it has problem!
