Can we please have the option to allocate markers eg Elevation, section, detail etc markers to a renovation status.
(Everything should be able to have a renovation status allocated surely?)
I don't want to see proposed details markers on my existing plan and don't want to have to make a new layer combination & new layers for existing, Demo & Proposed plans I would like to use the same settings just changing between renovation filters.
Thanks
Even though folders remain underdeveloped with their true management potential unrealised there are still seemingly small things that could be done to make folders at least useful for organising.
One of these is the ability to set folder level rules for automatic name and ID for items. As per usual the value of this is already acknowledge by someone somewhere but inconsistently implemented. It is quite ridiculous to have such functionality already implemented but still having to manually rename items to indicate their place in the structure.
Combine the naming function implemented for publisher sets and the identification function implemented for layout subsets and make it consistently implemented for any and all folders/groups structures in AC.
Not only would it make it easy for users to organise the project as they see fit but together with improvements to the search syntax it would not take more than a few keystrokes to get to an item.
I got a notice today that I have been deactivated from the Archicad 26 Upgrade Training class on the Graphisoft Learn Portal because 6 months has elapsed since I signed up. (Never mind that I haven't even looked at the content yet.)
Further, I can not sign in again for free as an SSA member using the coupon code - because the site tells me that I'm already enrolled (!) and would now have to pay USD $ 175 which is insane. The spot where you enter the SSA/FORWARD coupon code is gone:
This wish is for SSA members to have indefinite access to all courses as long as they maintain SSA status. No major learning platform boots you out of a course if you are still an active member. Everyone has to sign in with their GSID ... so that platform already knows if you are SSA or not... so it should not even be necessary to enter a coupon code...which is so utterly stupid... and is yet different than a Promo Code which appears in the shopping cart.
Please make this a platform that supports customers, rather than a labyrinth to annoy them.
The current Mesh tool is no longer sufficient for modern BIM standards. We need a dedicated DTM (Digital Terrain Model) tool that behaves with engineering logic rather than just being a surface.
Key Requirements:
Existing vs. Proposed: Native management of terrain phases to automatically calculate Cut & Fill volumes.
Advanced Visualization: Independent display settings for 2D and 3D. We need to show contour lines and technical grids simultaneously without graphic override workarounds.
Infrastructure Tools: Integrated path and road tools that follow terrain slopes, including automatic curbs and longitudinal sections.
Logic: Similar to Allplan’s site tools, where the terrain is the starting point of the project, not just a decorative mesh.
Why it matters: Accuracy in site coordination and earthwork volumes is critical for the early stages of any project and for proper BIM collaboration.
Complex Profiles already allow for powerful modeling via stretch-based modifiers (width, height, offsets), but to take them to the next level, Archicad should support additional parametric controls, specifically:
Editable angles (e.g. sloped cuts, bevels, chamfers)
Editable radii (e.g. rounded corners, grooves, bullnoses)
This wishlist proposes enhancing the Complex Profile system by adding angle and radius parameters that can be adjusted per instance, making profiles more flexible, reusable, and intelligent.
Proposed Features:
Inside the Profile Manager, users could:
Define angle dimensions with named parameters (e.g., "slope angle")
Define radius controls for arcs and curves (e.g., "curve radius")
These parameters would be exposed in the settings of any element using that profile (Wall, Beam, Column), similar to existing Stretch Modifiers.
The geometry would update live, keeping the profile associative and clean.
Optional constraints (min/max, lock to other parameters) would allow safer, smarter profiles.
Angle inputs could be in degrees, and radius could be numeric or locked to proportions.
While setting the colour of the cut elements section in BIMx is a great feature, for clarity and checks on site - where BIMx is supposed to be used the most - or with the subcontractors, or anyone else not using Archicad, it is ESSENTIAL that the cut elements show with the Building Material fills.
This is especially important in composite elements with air spaces
Labels don't mirror properly, which is exponentially problematic in mirrored modules, where the messed up label can't be edited.

We urgently need much better control of surface merging.
Everybody knows the issue: You model e.g. two beams, made out of the same BMAT – boom! they merge unintentionally, leading to very strange workarounds of either duplicating all the BMats (not helping often enough in more complex situations) or model pieces a thousand of a millimeter away (BAD practice as it introduces dimensional errors later on).
We need to be able to select for each tool if they should surface join on touch or not!
In the meantime it would be nice if at least the proper funtioning of the special layer intersection group "0" (zero) would be restored.
If a layer has its intersection group set to 0 none of the elements in it should surface join even with each other.
Hello you lovely Archicad people,
right now we are trying to work with Archicad and pointclouds.
Please enhance the performance with pointclouds.
Have a look into https://github.com/potree/potree
The performance is crazy and its all done in a web enviroment. We should try to implent something like this in Archicad.
first try could be a "browser" inside Archicad with webGL support.
second try could be a proxy modell of the webGL pointcloud inside the 3D window
and so on....
if you need an example contact me please. We have something to present. We are working with some talented people who are enhancing the potree functions and are working with big pointclouds.
There some addons like BIMmTool and they work fine but workin with pointclouds is an upcoming thing and right now its state of the art. we cant miss it and we have to be sharp regarding this field of architecture.
Performance Enhancement
Better Control of the pointcloud (pointsize, pointcount, pointcloudsize)
Better Control of the presentation
Controll of the color channels
Multi-Threating (i know different wish and section)
And the whole workflow should be reviewd, right now its a crazy amount of converting files through too many different formats...we start with the scannerfile, go to pointcloud formats and then we land in .lcfs....this is a really bad uncontrollable process.
Good day Graphisoft Team
I want to post this New Feature Request for setting the 3D opening angle of Doors, Windows & Skylights in "Model View Options" instead of in the Element Settings.
If we need to Publish 3D models to BIMx & Twinmotion (or other render software) with Doors, Windows & Skylights in open position, we have to actually select all Doors, Windows & Skylights and change the in 3D opening angle in the Element Settings, then Publish. Then we have to change it back (or Undo) so that Section & Elevation drawings are as we need them to be. This is not only tedious but causes disruptions, delays & some times errors with drawings in project files of other team members especially when working in Teamwork.
Request / suggestion:
If these Doors, Windows & Skylights settings are controlled in "Model View Options" we can then globally control 3D opening angle (and perhaps also the 2D opening angle) by MVOs linked to Saved Views. This would make it possible to Publish 3D models to BIMx & Twinmotion (or other render software) with Doors, Windows & Skylights in open position but still have them on closed position for Sections & Elevations. Models appear more life like especially when the doors and in some cases Windows & Skylights are in open position. This will give us more flexible output workflow for different scenarios.
There are almost 1000 wishes in this forum. Many of them would be obvious improvements - making the software more functional, intuitive, integrated, and dynamic.
Instead of waiting for TWO HUNDRED people to express dissatisfaction on this forum, how about somebody from Graphisoft regularly reviews the wishes for what are almost objectively good ideas and works to get them on the roadmap and into the software?
I've been on this Wishlist since it was created and there's a lot of gold in here. I don't know that we deserve compensation for these wishes as another user has suggested, but I would like all of the good ideas we are putting forth to actually help improve the software. I know wishes are moving to "Under Consideration" with 20, 30, 40 upvotes. I'm just saying can we restructure this a little?
The community provides good ideas -> Graphisoft reviews *ALL* of them -> The good ones get incorporated, *especially* the ones with many upvotes.
Would anyone else like to see more than a handful of these ideas get into the software?
EDIT: (moving this from a comment into the post)
I think part of what is happening is that the Wishlist forum is fielding both Wishes with a capital W ("wouldn't it be cool if Archicad could ___"), and User Experience feedback ("this tool isn't working as expected", "there are inconsistencies in your interface", "I'm not able to ___ when this happens, but it works everywhere else", "in your latest update, you lost this feature").
There is so much UX feedback - we have essentially become a global UX team, which on the one hand is great - we use the product day in and day out and can easily notice when the experience isn't meeting par. The key is that Graphisoft needs to sort out which "wishes" are aspirational and which are essential. As a daily U, this would greatly improve my X.
I updated the Shoegnome Open Template to use the INT Windows and Doors. For the most part, I'm happy with the switch, but I found a number of features that I will miss from the USA Windows and Doors. My hope is that GRAPHISOFT will add the following items to the INT doors and windows so that the USA objects can eventually be sunset:
How is it possible that in 2022 / Archicad 26 there is still not an out of the box right angle window? The Triangle Fixed window [Moderator: in the USA library] can not have a vertical side. This is super annoying. The only way to achieve this basic window shape (without paying for a 3rd party window like Cadimage) is to use the ancient FreeFormWindow, which is missing tons of features and is surely going to stop working at some point. Can whoever is in charge of the libraries, just spend like 5 minutes and get us this window?
Will help a lot if "Floor Plan Cut Plane Settings" can be adjusted in any Section/Elevation views with handles similar ones that are in "Section/Elevation Range" tool. This will help a lot when investigating why some objects are not visible in plan views
Showing how these handles can be seen in section view.
Instead of using different profiles for every single building material with the same shape it would be really great to be able to change only the building material itself. Especially when the profile consists of one single fill.
Often I need to create some kind of wall which will be trimmed on the top part in diagonal. For example a wall along stairs ...
To do so there is several approach :
- Create a roof and trim with roof and hide roof or
- Create a roof and crop
- Create a morph from wall but it lost some editing possibility (and morph editing is messy)
- Create a special profil in 2D
- Solid element operation and then hide operator element
They are all taking time and need to create other component to arrived to such result.
After all there are already several way to create wall with different thickness for example but this is only for the 2D plan.
I which there would be a fast way to do the same "verticaly", editing wall height at both end of the wall :
Forgive me if there is already a wish and/or discussion around this topic, but there should be automatic text list formatting available for the Text tool and Label tool. Even just two options would suffice: plain text bullets, and numbers. The main benefit would come when edits to a list is needed: say you need to add a line item for number 10, in your list of 30. Automatic numbering would be really helpful here; right now it would all be manual.
Some instances where this would be helpful include General Notes, Door Schedules Remarks, etc. There are quite a few instances where a plain text/label box is the most efficient workflow, for quick user editing and project management.
Hello all,
It would be super nice to add the option coordinate the Drawing tool with the Survey point same as the Xref.
The Drawing tool has many benefits opposite from Xref:
In practice I used to use mainly for references with MEP and other consultants. Also in cases when some parts of the project are only 2D existing drawings etc.
All best!
Spellcheck functionality in ArchiCAD is VERY old, requires MS Word, and doesn't really work - it needs a big overhaul!
