ENTER is geek for entering a command.
IT should implement whatever is on the command line.
ENTER was conscripted by the typists.

Is there a setting somewhere that will enable the Enter key to function like it is supposed to?Yes. On a Mac use the Cmd modifier. On a PC use Ctrl.
