type text, press Enter...makes return

Not sure if there is a simple setting to enable the Enter key.

When I type some text and press Enter on the key board, I get a return instead...to get out of the text dialogue I have to click w/ the cursor somewhere else in the window. Is there a setting somewhere that will enable the Enter key to function like it is supposed to?

Doesn't the Enter key always do the same as return? What else would it do?

Shame on you, you "typist," you!

ENTER is geek for entering a command.

IT should implement whatever is on the command line.

ENTER was conscripted by the typists.

so you want to make ENTER turn the Text tool into a Command line for Archicad? Neat idea!

Yes. On a Mac use the Cmd modifier. On a PC use Ctrl.

Cmd/ctrl+enter finishes text input.

Cheers,

This is how it worked in AC 6.5 (at least on the Mac). It worked perfectly well, and fast. Now I have to remove my hand from the keyboard and move the mouse to another location and click (after I've deleted the extra return I've created)... I was hoping, like reassigning all the key board shortcuts, that I could fix this too somehow.

I hope it is re-implemented soon.

and thanks s2art for the link which describes it very well.

as link says, using Cmd + Enter makes it work the way it should. except i keep finding myself using Cmd+Enter in other applications where it does work perfectly well on its own.
